Land on M Saidi Raya Artery Road Revitalized to Be Leading Area

The Petukangan Selatan Urban Village, Pesanggrahan Sub-district, South Jakarta has started revitalizing a 300-square-meter wide empty land on M Saidi Raya artery road, RT 09/01 by the Acting Jakarta's direction. It is the first revitalization location in 2023.

Parts of the land have been planted so far

"In 2022, we had revitalized the land under the toll road across M Saidi Raya artery road," expressed Petukangan Selatan Urban Village Head, Wahyudi, Thursday (2/2).

According to him, the land revitalization on M Saidi Raya artery road has been ongoing since two weeks ago by sending six PPSU personnel. Previously, the land was used as a storage area for street vendors' carts and illegal waste disposal.

The first action is by dredging the broken sheet pile. The next step is to use Hebel stones to make pathways or locations for planting ornamental plants and then also made a children's playground, one of which is equipped with a slide, including a mural painting for better scenery.

"Parts of the land have been planted so far. This planting involves personnel of South Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency for the ornamental garden placement. It is targeted to be completed in the forthcoming March," he explained.

Gunawan Wardhani (51), a resident positively welcomed and supported the revitalization of M Saidi Raya artery road. Moreover, the road was previously less tidy and seedy.

"Hopefully, it can be useful for residents. Because of its location on the roadside, it will also be a good view for passing vehicle users," he stated.
